Testimony before Santa Clara County Human Relations Commission

September 20, 2011

By Father Brendan McGuire, Vicar General of the Diocese of San Jose

April 2012

In Testimony before Santa Clara County Human Relations Commission, Father Brendan McGuire gives us wonderful food for thought as he reflects on the reality of anger and its influence in society’s promotion of the death penalty. Instead of focusing anger in destructive ways – such as revenge – he encourages an approach which channels anger in constructive ways, leading to forgiveness. Father McGuire draws upon his experience of ministry with prison inmates as well, creating a compelling experiential story which enhances his overall presentation and his focus on creating a forgiving community.
