JustFaith JustMatters Series: Sanctity of ALL Life

November 24, 2012

The Catholic Church teaches that, as a gift from God, every human life is sacred from conception to natural death.  This concept of the worth and dignity of all human life is the core principle of Catholic social teaching.  The JustFaith Ministries Sanctity of ALL Life module engages this teaching and offers extensive action ideas and activities for all of the life issues, including abortion, euthanasia, torture and the death penalty.

The module was designed by The Catholic Mobilizing Network to End the Use of the Death Penalty (CMN), a network created with the encouragement of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).  In creating the module, CMN worked with the Franciscan Action Network and the Pro-Life Office of the USCCB.  The uniting theme of the module is the consistent ethic of life and the death penalty.

It is hoped that by the end of the program participants will:

  • Have a clearer understanding of Church teaching related to the sanctity of all life,
  • Have deepened their faith reflection on the life issues,
  • Be make a commitment, or renewed commitment, to action.

The module has six programmed sessions and one recommended field trip. Unlike all other JustFaith Ministries programs, there are no books to purchase. The module does require, though, a solid commitment by each and every participant to engage in active listening and respectful dialogue.

Registration for the module is $150 (per group). An additional cost is the purchase of one one DVD (per group).  For more information visit the JustFaith website or contact Mary Wright or David Horvath.
