Dead Man Walking is a 2002 play written by Tim Robbins. It is based on the book of the same name by Sister Helen Prejean, CSJ, about her experiences as a chaplain on death row – which also was made into a 1995 film starring Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon. The Catholic Mobilizing Network works with the Dead Man Walking School Theatre Project to make multiple versions of the play available to parishes, high schools, colleges and universities, and other groups interested in bringing Sister Helen’s powerful story to life on stage.
