Robert Garcia spent twenty-one years incarcerated in California State Prisons and Juvenile Detention Centers. Now the Assistant Executive Director at the Jesuit Restorative Justice Initiative (JRJI), Robert strives to heal broken relationships with the incarcerated, victims of crime, and families through prayer, education, and advocacy. He regularly speaks at juvenile facilities and prisons throughout the state of California as well as colleges and universities. 

Robert has recently created and launched a new program called Foot Prints, which strives to transform the lives of incarcerated gang members by building supportive relationships and empowering them with the tools to recognize the negative reality of gang life and disassociate themselves from gang involvement. Robert is married and a proud father to his daughters, Ximena and Xiomara. He continues his studies at California State University, Dominguez Hills to obtain his Master’s Degree in Social Work. He is also a volunteer Peer Reentry Mentor Navigator for the Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) in California and an Anti-Recidivism Coalition Member of three years.
