This month, we’ll focus on values and guidelines, two key steps of the circle process that are essential for creating grounding, connection, safety, and a container strong enough for meaningful conversations. Sharing values and co-creating guidelines—or affirming existing ones—allow participants to honor each other’s dignity, practice consensus-building, and build a conversation container where everyone takes responsibility for equitable participation. Together, we model the transformation we want to see in our communities towards more restorative and life-giving relationships.
