Deepening Circle: Spotlight on Preparation for Restorative Practices

How can the work we do beforehand as facilitators and ministry leaders, set the stage for a smooth and impactful restorative dialogue?

A key to any successful restorative process is adequate and appropriate preparation – both for the facilitator and the participants involved. The preparation for a harm repair dialogue will be different from preparation for a community-building circle, but both deserve meaningful planning, attention, and communication with all involved.

Join us as we hear from restorative justice practitioners about how they approach preparation according to the circumstances, intensity, and unique needs of the group. We’ll take a peak at supporting material from CMN’s new Conversations in Communion Facilitator Guide and then reflect together on our experiences and questions in a small-group circle process.

Deepening Circles are perfect for ministry leaders who have some knowledge about restorative justice practices and are implementing them in their communities.
