Good Friday is the day that Jesus was sentenced to death, sat on death row, and ultimately became the victim of execution. Every step along Christ’s Passion begs us to contemplate the cruelty and injustice of capital punishment.
This Good Friday, join Catholic Mobilizing Network in a solemn virtual prayer vigil as we lament Jesus’ execution and pray for an end to all state-sanctioned killing in our modern time.

CMN’s Monthly Prayer Vigils
On the First Friday of every month, CMN holds a Virtual Prayer Vigil to lament upcoming executions and bear witness to the sanctity of all human life. These monthly gatherings feature the diverse voices of Catholic bishops, Church leaders, death penalty abolitionists, and people impacted by crime, violence, or incarceration. Each vigil includes time for guided prayer, petitions, Scripture reflections, and contemplative silence.
