June 14 | Intro to Restorative Justice

Join CMN this June for a virtual introductory workshop on restorative justice to learn basic concepts and practices related to the application of restorative justice in ministry. 

This 3.5-hour workshop is ideal for individuals who are new to restorative justice and restorative practices.

12–3:30 p.m. ET (9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. PT)

This virtual event will take place via Zoom conference. It will not be recorded.
This event is highly participatory. Attendees are asked to arrive on time and stay for the entirety of the event.

Participants will receive a packet of materials including:

  • Harm Healing and Human Dignity: A Catholic Encounter with Restorative Justice
  • The Little Book of Circle Processes by Kay Pranis
  • Helpful handouts and lists of suggested resources for continued learning

Goals & Learning Objectives

Through exercises, reflection, and sharing, “Intro to Restorative Justice” participants will: 

LEARN about core principles of restorative justice and how they connect with Catholic teaching
HEAR stories of restorative practices being applied in Catholic parish and ministry settings
EXPERIENCE a restorative practice with fellow ministry leaders
REFLECT on opportunities for restorative approaches in their lives and ministries

Co-Facilitators

Caitlin Morneau headshotCaitlin Morneau serves as Director of Restorative Justice at Catholic Mobilizing Network. She was the lead adaptor for CMN’s faith formation guide, Harm, Healing and Human Dignity: A Catholic Encounter with Restorative Justice, and led the collaborative creation of Paths of Renewed Encounter: A Restorative Justice Engagement Guide for Catholic Communities. Caitlin holds an MA in Conflict Transformation from the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University and is trained in circle process and restorative community conferencing.

Caitlin Morneau headshotLucie Martinot-Lagarde is CMN's Restorative Justice Program Associate. A native of France, she graduated with an MA in Conflict Transformation from the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University, with a focus on trauma healing.
Lucie has experience living and working in cross-cultural and cross-denominational contexts, serving as a spiritual companion and circlekeeper, and supporting the implementation of restorative practices in public schools.
