Dismas Ministry in Milwaukee Wisconsin will be holding its 2nd National CATHOLIC prison ministry conference this October 12 & 13.  This conference will be bringing together over 200 people from all over the United States to learn, network, refresh and renew their work in the field of Prison Ministry.

The speakers for the conference are: Sr. Helen Prejean, author of bestseller, ‘Dead Man Walking’; Karen Clifton from Catholic Mobilizing Network; Barbara McPherson, St. Vincent DePaul National; Joshua Stancil, Curtis Gibson, and Mike Siedlecki, Dismas Ministry Board Members.

They will present on the subjects of: Pastoral Care for Prisoners, Re-entry, Parish Prison Ministry, Servant Leadership, Restorative Justice and Death Row Ministry.

This conference is hosted by Dismas Ministry, a publications and mailing ministry whose goal is to give prisoners spiritual support during their incarceration. Dismas Ministry provides inmates and their chaplains with free Catholic scripture, faith and prayer resources they need.  Their mission includes all who suffer the effects of crime: victims and their loved ones, as well as prisoners, those released from prison, and the entire community.  The conference is further hosted by: Catholic Mobilizing Network, Pastoral Ministry & Peace Studies, Lewis University-Romeoville, Il, National St. Vincent de Paul Society, Prison Apostolate of the Order of Malta, I Was in PrisonOutreach Ministry – Tallahassee, FL, and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The cost of attendence is $100 per person.
