UPDATE: On November 20th, 2019, a U.S. district judge temporarily halted the four pending federal executions — a decision which is already facing appeal by the Department of Justice. The situation concerning the planned restart of federal executions is still incredibly volatile and requires your continued vigilance. The planned events in Terre Haute on December 8th will take place as scheduled.

The federal government announced a restart of federal executions for the first time in 16 years. Four executions have been scheduled to take place at the United States Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana beginning December 9th, 2019.

Federal executions have quickly altered the landscape of the abolition movement in the United States. These events speak out against this regression and call for an upholding of human dignity.

**Catholic Mobilizing Network will be joining other religious and secular organizations December 8th for these events**
