SUMMARY:Intro to Restorative Justice Workshop (August 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Join Catholic Mobilizing Network for a virtual introductory workshop on restorative justice. Discover the core concepts and practices of restorative justice in the legal system\, Catholic ministry\, and beyond.\n\n\n\nRegister Now!\n\n\n\nIn just two hours\, participants will: \n\n\n\n\nLEARN the foundational principles of restorative justice as they relate to Catholic teaching.\n\n\n\nWITNESS the testimony of a Catholic individual who went through a restorative process and became a practitioner of restorative justice.\n\n\n\nPARTICIPATE in a small group circle process\, to experience a foundational restorative practice firsthand. \n\n\n\nDISCOVER how restorative practices can be applied in various settings\, including parishes and ministry. \n\n\n\n\nThis workshop will allow you to engage with the key concepts of restorative justice to advance justice and healing\, transform the U.S. criminal legal system\, and live out Catholic teachings on justice and mercy. \n\n\n\nWHO IS IT FOR? This workshop is ideal for individuals and ministry groups who are new to restorative justice and its practices\, or those interested in exploring how they can be implemented in faith-based contexts. \n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Details\n\n\n\n\n\nDATE: Thursday\, August 13\, 2026 \n\n\n\nTIME: 12–2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m.–1 p.m. CT / 9–11 a.m. PTThis workshop is participatory. Please plan to attend the entirety of the event. \n\n\n\nLOCATION: Virtual via Zoom. The event will not be recorded. \n\n\n\nREGISTRATION COST: $30. Email lucie@catholicsmobilizing.org \n\n\n\n\n\nCo-Facilitators\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCaitlin Morneau serves as Director of Restorative Justice at Catholic Mobilizing Network where she oversees program development that activates Catholics to embrace healing approaches to harm and crime. As an educator\, author\, speaker\, and community organizer\, Caitlin is committed to an ethic of mutuality that builds relationships and capacity among people of faith and the national restorative justice movement.  \n\n\n\nCaitlin has over 15 years of experience in volunteer management\, operations\, and program implementation at local and national non-profits such as Catholic Charities of Baltimore\, Catholic Volunteer Network\, Youth Service Opportunities Project\, and Bethlehem Farm. While at CMN\, Caitlin has led the co-creation of several major publications. She is also the host of CMN’s podcast\, Encounters with Dignity.   \n\n\n\nCaitlin is an experienced facilitator of circle process and trained in restorative community conferencing. She holds an MA in Conflict Transformation from the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University and is a Bernardin Scholar at Catholic Theological Union. Caitlin lives in Alexandria\, VA with her husband\, two children\, and black lab. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLucie Martinot-Lagarde is the Senior Restorative Justice Program Manager at Catholic Mobilizing Network. A native of France\, she graduated with an MA in Conflict Transformation from the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University\, with a focus on trauma healing. \n\n\n\nLucie has experience living and working in cross-cultural and cross-denominational contexts\, serving as a spiritual companion and circle keeper\, and supporting the implementation of restorative practices in public schools.
