Carey Dean Moore
On August 14, 2018, Carey Dean Moore will be executed in Nebraska. If executed, Carey Dean Moore will be the first person executed in the United States using Fentanyl. The ACLU has opposed this action because the four-drug cocktail proposed for use has never been utilized in a lethal injection. The three Nebraska Catholic bishops have opposed this execution: In a written statement, the three bishops, Archbishop George J. Lucas of Omaha, Bishop James D. Conley of Lincoln and Bishop Joseph G. Hanefeldt of Grand Island, said, “As the Catholic Bishops of Nebraska, we recognize that our society has a pervasive culture of violence and death which can only be transformed by a counter-culture of justice and mercy.”
We need your voice to prevent Nebraska from utilizing this inhumane practice of violence.
Catholic Mobilizing Network calls on all people of goodwill to oppose this action. Write the Nebraska Board of Pardons Office to ask for clemency for Carey Dean Moore. Personalize this one-click letter.
