This position is a part-time role (25-29 hours per week), based in Washington, DC. The Program Assistant has primary responsibility for supporting all program implementation, administrative management and enhancement of internal systems for Catholic Mobilizing Network. 
 

Digital Media Support

  • Draft monthly supporter actions such as Faith & Action First Fridays and the Mercy in Action Project
  • Regularly assist in framing blog content and readying posts for publishing 
  • Assist with necessary, ongoing website updates and tweaks
  • Help to create online forms, registration pages, and other timely tools using Salsa Engage
  • Contribute to the creation of original graphics and educational content for CMN's social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Respond to inquiries and comments received through CMN’s digital communications channels
  • Triage requests to the info@address to appropriate staff

Coordination and Logistics 

  • Order office supplies and inventory materials
  • Coordinate conference registrations and related logistics for CMN’s presence at conferences, speaking engagements and workshops 
  • Respond to ongoing material requests
  • Assist in creating online advocacy and using web tools such as Salsa Labs
  • Assist in securing travel and meeting logistics

Administrative Elements

  • Assist in preparing for board meetings (i.e. ordering food, preparing binders, tech needs)
  • Develop a system for organizing, storing, and archiving CMN documentation
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, organizational planning, and staff trainings
  • Play a supportive role in assisting CMN staff in project implementation 
  • Support conferences and organization-wide events
  • Other administrative functions and projects as assigned

Database Maintenance

  • Maintain supporters database, weekly constituent imports, and ongoing upgrades 
  • Input weekly all donations, grants, stock gifts, and bequests in CMN’s database
  • Produce regular thank you letters for donations and monthly supporters 

Supervision

The Program Assistant is supervised by the Executive Director or designate

Ideal candidates would have:

  • Knowledge of CMN and a passion for being part of a mission-driven organization
  • Comfort working in a faith-based organization and familiarity with Catholic teachings 
  • Demonstrated experience with project coordination, including the ability to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and keep things moving while maintaining a high attention to accuracy and detail
  • Technical savvy and familiarity with databases (especially SALSA Labs) and emerging technology
  • Experience working independently and an appreciation for collaborative work environment 
  • Commitment to the core values of CMN, including a commitment to racial equity
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
