General Description 

The Program Associate’s primary responsibility is to support the Restorative Justice and Communications portfolios of Catholic Mobilizing Network, a national organization working to end the death penalty and promote restorative justice.  

This position is a full-time role and may require occasional travel. The Program Associate is co-supervised by CMN’s Director of Restorative Justice and Director of Communications.


Restorative Justice Program Support

  • Coordinate participant communication, technical logistics, and materials preparation for  CMN’s restorative justice events

  • Coordinate management and dissemination of resources on CMN’s “Restorative Justice in Ministry Listserv” 

  • Assist with monitoring and evaluation of CMN’s restorative justice programming.

  • Support the planning and production of CMN’s forthcoming restorative justice podcast

  • Remain informed about advocacy initiatives that foster a more restorative criminal legal system.

Communications and Media Support 

  • Manage the coordination and tracking of CMN’s content calendar.

  • Assist with creation and curation of content for CMN’s social media channels.

  • Track and analyze CMN’s earned media, social media and email engagement, and website visitor patterns.

  • Monitor comments and field messages on CMN’s social media channels.

  • Monitor Google Alerts for articles related to CMN’s issues and network.

  • Support writing and editing projects for varied audiences and voices.

  • Assist with creation and dissemination of organizational e-blasts.

  • Assist with curation and editing of CMN blog posts.


  • Monitor and respond to requests on CMN’s administrative email account.

  • Assist with graphic design projects and ensure adherence to CMN’s brand guidelines.

  • Maintain CMN’s inventory of hard copy resources, marketing materials, stationary, etc.

  • Administer mailing of CMN hard copy resources as requested.

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, supervisor check-ins, organizational planning, relevant retreats and staff trainings.

  • Assist with securing travel and organizing meeting logistics.

  • Play a supportive role in various restorative justice and communications projects.

  • Support CMN’s presence at national conferences and related events.

  • Other administrative functions and projects as assigned.


  • Familiarity with restorative justice principles and practices. (Training and/or facilitation experience, a plus.)

  • Highly skilled writer and editor.

  • Familiarity with various social media platforms and best practices.

  • Experience with graphic design programs (Canva, Photoshop, InDesign), CRMs, email marketing platforms, website design (HTML, CSS), and/or video editing

  • Excellent project/time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, implement goals, and keep things moving while maintaining a high attention to accuracy and detail.

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field. 

  • 2-3 years prior experience, ideally in a related field (e.g., Catholic ministry, communications, community organizing, etc.).

  • Spanish language fluency/proficiency, a plus. (As well as experience/comfort with Spanish language translation.)

  • Understanding of Catholic theology and Catholic Social Teaching, a plus.

  • Comfort working independently, and appreciative of a collaborative work environment. 

  • Strong written and interpersonal communication

  • Commitment to the mission and core values of Catholic Mobilizing Network, including a commitment to racial equity
