Redemption and Restoration Conference: In Pictures

A Catholic movement for restorative justice is underway. CMN’s conference and book launch affirmed that the call to become agents of restoration is growing ever louder! Our speakers challenged us to respond to Pope Francis’ messages for mercy, encounter and ministry to the margins in new ways and participants left ready to spring into action. A day filled with both hope and urgency about the need to transform our criminal justice system, the fruits of this conference will continue to unfold in the coming months. Take a look back at the day with the images below. These pictures highlight a few of the moments of dialogue and discernment that took place throughout the day.
On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, CMN hosted a conference launching the recently published book Redemption and Restoration: A Catholic Perspective on Restorative Justice. Hosted in collaboration with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Liturgical Press, and the National School of Social Service of the Catholic University of America, this conference convened Catholic theologians, national ministry leaders and restorative justice practitioners who together addressed the brokenness of the criminal justice system in the United States. The event illuminated the theological underpinning of the Catholic call to restorative justice and opportunities for deeper engagement between Catholic ministry and evangelization in order to transform harm, violence, and our existing judicial systems.
If you were unable to attend the conference or wish to re-live the transformative day, we invite you to watch and share the recording of the conference.
