The culture of life we seek is built on a foundation of prayer. The Holy Hour of Mercy is a resource that guides you through an hour of praying for life and an end to the death penalty. Prayers in this hour include the St. Michael Prayer, The Divine Mercy Chaplet, and a Litany for Life. This guided holy hour can be used to lead a group in a prayer service for and an end to the Death Penalty or can be used by an individual during a personal holy hour.
Join us during this Advent season for prayerful reflection and hopeful anticipation. Every Monday you will receive a special Advent reflection for the coming Sunday. The reflections are available online, on social media, and can also be downloaded as a complete set. Enjoy the Sunday Advent scripture readings through the lens of justice and mercy:
Catholic Mobilizing Network's Executive Director, Karen Clifton, explains the concept of restorative justice and reflects on how it is tied to our Catholic faith.
David Matzko McCarthy’s Death Penalty and Discipleship is a faith formation resource to help communities and individuals reflect more deeply on capital punishment. Particularly recommended for parish social justice committees or book clubs, Death Penalty and Discipleship incorporates Scripture, Catholic social teaching, and contemporary issues that focus on the meaning of God’s self-giving in Jesus Christ and the implications of God’s redemptive work in our lives.
