Schoene Mahmood brings 16 years of experience in Restorative Justice Practices (RJP) at Loyola Marymount University’s Center for Urban Resilience, (LMU CURes). Schoene directs the Restorative Justice Project at CURes to provide educational trainings to 65 primary and secondary schools to date. Extending their reach to higher-education, they partner with the Office of Student Affairs to implement RJP campus-wide at LMU and serve on the RJ Network of Catholic Campuses Planning Committee. Schoene oversees the Southern California RJ Consortium, comprised of 32 organizations which aims to educate future generations of RJP leaders for scholarship, practice, and implementation.

Before joining LMU CURes, Schoene facilitated Community Conferences for 400+ juvenile expulsion, arrest, and court-diversion cases referred by the Maryland State Attorney’s office,  the Baltimore City Police, and Baltimore Public schools. Her training is informed by Dr. Lauren Abramson, Johns Hopkins Medical Institute and Dr. Beverly Title, co-founder of Longmont Community Justice partnership.
