Father Stephen Thorne is a priest of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Born in Philadelphia, he was ordained in 1998 and has served as a pastor, educator and administrator. From 2004-2011, he was the Executive Director of the Office for Black Catholics for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He is a consultant to the National Black Catholic Congress, and the Sub Committee for African American Affairs of the United States Conference for Catholic Bishops. Father has earned degrees in philosophy, Sacred Theology, and educational leadership. In 2017, he was awarded the ‘Lead, Learn, and Proclaim Award’ from the National Association for Catholic Education. Currently, he serves in pastoral ministry, teaches, and co-chairs the Archbishop’s Commission on Racial Healing for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
