Congregation of St. Joseph (CSJ)

The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph is a religious community of over 500 vowed Catholic women and 500 lay associates who live and minister in the U.S. and around the world. We sponsor over 30 ministries including three Catholic high schools; tutoring and literacy programs; spirituality centers; social service programs; spiritual direction; and pastoral assistance. We are also involved in and support numerous justice and peace initiatives including anti-racism efforts, the abolishment of the death penalty, fair and just immigration policies, non-violence, especially in regards to gun violence, ending the modern day slavery of human trafficking, and care of the environment and Earth.

Death Penalty Statement

The Congregation of St. Joseph is dedicated to protecting all life, from birth to a natural death. We believe that all people have a right to live, and we work to preserve the dignity of all people. This work leads us to the belief that it is our responsibility to work against the killing of any and all people, including those who have been convicted and sentenced to death.
