Deepening Circle: Adapting Restorative Practices for Full Participation

May 7 @ 7:30 pm 9:00 pm EDT

The Prophet Isaiah asks us to imagine the full manifestation of the Kingdom of God as a banquet God will prepare for all peoples. All of them and everyone, in the hope that none will be missing. Everyone, everyone, everyone! Through His Spirit, God’s Grace whispers words of love in everyone’s heart. It is up to us to amplify the sound of this whispering, never getting in its way; to open the doors, never building walls… In this time of wars, we must … learn to shape in concrete ways the conviviality of differences.”
Pope Francis’ Address to welcome the Final document of the Synod on Synodality, “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, Mission”, 2024.

As restorative justice practitioners, we are continually called to deepen our commitment to honoring the full dignity and participation of every person. This Deepening Circle will explore how we can thoughtfully adapt our practices to meet the diverse needs of those we accompany, welcoming as gifts the diversity in age, cultures, abilities, etc.

Grounded in Catholic Social Teaching, and guided by the lived wisdom of practitioners who place people at the heart of their work, we’ll reflect on how to discern and implement meaningful adaptations that ensure everyone can participate fully in processes that impact them. We will then gather in small group circles to share experiences and insights.

CMN’s Deepening Circles are offered every other month through the RJ Ministry Community of Practice. Learn more >>
They are perfect for ministry leaders who have some knowledge about restorative justice practices and are implementing them in their communities. There are free to attend, and are not recorded.
