Virtual Retreat | Mary at the Foot of the Cross: Somebody’s Child

September 7 @ 1:00 pm 3:30 pm EDT

Join us for a virtual retreat exploring death penalty abolition and restorative justice.

About

Take time at the foot of the cross during this 2.5 hour virtual retreat on death penalty abolition and restorative justice. Hear from affected families, ministers, and activists as they share their stories and invite us to consider Mary’s unique role in our work to be a voice against the death penalty and promoters of the healing practices of restorative justice. There will be time for reflection and sharing in small groups, as well as experiences of art, music, and poetry.

Featured speakers include:

Terri Steinberg who is the mother of Justin Wolfe, the youngest person on Virginia’s death row before his sentence was reduced.

Elwood Jones who is seeking to become Ohio’s 12th death row exoneree after 27 years on Ohio’s death row.

Sr. Donna Liette, C.PP.S who is a minister to mothers who have lost children to violence, the streets, or to incarceration
