A New Book Offers Catholic Perspective
Register for the Webinar at bit.ly/cmn-book-launch on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 1:00 p.m. Eastern
(Washington, D.C.) A newly released faith formation guide invites audiences to explore the Catholic call to restorative justice. Harm, Healing, and Human Dignity: A Catholic Encounter with Restorative Justice is a timely work of Catholic Mobilizing Network (CMN), the national Catholic organization working to end the death penalty and promote restorative justice.
Published by Liturgical Press, Harm, Healing, and Human Dignity encourages readers to consider their individual responses to harm, society’s communal responses to crime, and ways in which the U.S. criminal justice system falls short of promoting human dignity, hope, and healing. Its pages are filled with powerful stories, prayers, reflection questions, and links to additional resources for deeper learning.
The 50-page booklet is adapted from a larger, edited volume entitled Redemption and Restoration: A Catholic Perspective on Restorative Justice, which served as CMN’s first restorative justice text published in November 2017.
Members of the media are entitled to a complimentary copy of Harm, Healing, and Human Dignity: A Catholic Encounter with Restorative Justice. To receive your copy, please complete the online order form.
CMN will officially launch the book in a dynamic webinar featuring Catholic restorative justice practitioners Fr. David Kelly, C.PP.S, Founder and Executive Director of Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation (PBMR), and Chris Castillo, a volunteer with Bridges to Life who lost his mother to murder in 1991. The webinar will be hosted by the Catholic Apostolate Center and moderated by Caitlin Morneau, the book’s adapter and CMN’s Director of Restorative Justice. More details can be found below:
