Travis Claybrooks
Travis Claybrooks is the Founder and CEO of Raphah Institute, which improves community safety by helping marginalized communities access essential resources like housing, healthcare, education, and economic support. He believes that when people have the resources they need to be safe, they will. He holds a Master of Divinity from Liberty University and is pursuing a doctorate in Strategic Leadership. His diverse career includes serving as a Nashville police officer, US Army veteran, pastor, and trained victim advocate. Travis is a community safety practitioner specializing in offering alternatives to prosecution and incarceration for personal violence cases through a restorative justice framework. He serves on several boards and committees, including the First Horizon Bank Community Advisory Board, the Nashville Health Equity Coalition, and as Associate Minister at Jefferson Street Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville. Travis is expanding Raphah Institute’s Accountability and Repair Conferencing Initiative in partnership with Memphis/Shelby County and community organizations. He is also piloting a community investment project in early childhood education in Nashville’s HUD housing communities. A North Nashville native, he resides in White House, TN, and enjoys researching family history and spending time with his wife and children.
