STOP the Execution of Cedric Ricks
Please contact Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles urging them to grant clemency to Cedric Ricks, and stop his execution.
Texas intends to execute Cedric Ricks on March 11 for the 2013 murders of Roxann Sanchez and her son, Anthony Figueroa.
We oppose this execution as we do every execution. Capital punishment is an act of state-sanctioned violence that violates the sacred dignity of every human life. In the words of Saint Pope John Paul II, “The dignity of human life must never be taken away, even in the case of someone who has done great evil.”
Cedric’s mother, loved ones, and friends have asked for mercy. They, and Cedric himself, recognize the harm his actions have caused, but request mercy in light of his rehabilitation and spiritual growth since his incarceration.
Contact Gov. Abbott and the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles today and urge them to stop the execution of Cedric Ricks.
