STOP the Execution of Geoffrey T. West

Please contact Governor Kay Ivey, urging her to grant clemency to Geoffrey T. West, and stop his execution.

Alabama intends to execute Geoffrey T. West on September 25, 2025 for the 1997 murder of Margaret Parrish Berry.

We oppose this execution as we do every execution. Capital punishment is an act of state sanctioned violence that violates the sacred dignity of every human life. In the words of Saint Pope John Paul II, “The dignity of human life must never be taken away, even in the case of someone who has done great evil.” 

Alabama intends to execute Geoffrey by nitrogen hypoxia, a method of execution with significant concerns regarding the undue pain and suffering it causes an individual as well as widespread international criticism.
