STOP the Execution of Jeffrey Hutchinson

Urge the Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency to offer clemency to stop the execution of Jeffrey Hutchinson.

Florida intends to execute Jeffrey Hutchinson on May 1 for the 1998 murders of Renee Flaherty, and her three children: Logan, Amanda, and Geoffrey.

We oppose this execution as we do every execution. Capital punishment is an act of state sanctioned violence that violates the sacred dignity of every human life. In the words of Saint Pope John Paul II, “The dignity of human life must never be taken away, even in the case of someone who has done great evil.”

Jeffrey Hutchinson is a decorated Gulf War veteran. He was sickened in combat by repeated exposure to nerve gas and was turned away from treatment when he got home. More than 25 years ago, for acts committed while he was still suffering from that untreated illness and trauma, he was sentenced to death. He fought for our country. Now, the State of Florida plans to kill him on May 1.

Contact Governor DeSantis and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency today to do everything in their power to stop the execution of Jeffrey Hutchinson.
