STOP the Execution of Moises Mendoza

Urge the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles and Governor Greg Abbott to offer clemency to Moises Mendoza and stop his execution.

Texas intends to execute Moises Sandoval Mendoza on April 23, 2025 for the 2004 murder of Rachelle O’Neil Tolleson.

We oppose this execution as we do every execution. Capital punishment is an act of state sanctioned violence that violates the sacred dignity of every human life. In the words of Saint Pope John Paul II, “The dignity of human life must never be taken away, even in the case of someone who has done great evil.”

Texas’s reliance on capital punishment, coupled with the inconsistencies in how it is applied, underscores the need to reconsider not just Moises’s fate but the broader system that places individuals like him on death row without fully acknowledging their capacity for change.

Contact Gov. Abbott and the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles to support clemency for Moises Sandoval Mendoza.
