STOP the Execution of Richard Randolph (Malik Abdul-Sajjad)
Please contact Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency urging them to stop the execution of Richard Randolph (Malik Abdul-Sajjad).
Florida plans to execute Richard Randolph (Malik Abdul-Sajjad) on November 20, 2025 for the 1988 murder of Minnie Ruth McCollum.
We oppose this execution as we do every execution. Capital punishment is an act of state sanctioned violence that violates the sacred dignity of every human life. In the words of Pope Saint John Paul II, “The dignity of human life must never be taken away, even in the case of someone who has done great evil.”
Malik is a US veteran who never received the necessary treatment for the trauma he experienced in war and throughout his young life. Instead, Malik self-medicated with alcohol and drugs. After hearing from only one witness, Malik’s jury narrowly voted 8-4 to sentence him to death — a vote that in nearly every other state would never result in a death sentence.
Florida has already carried out 15 executions this year alone. Please contact Gov. DeSantis and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency today and urge them to stop Richard Randolph’s execution and this spree of state-sanctioned death.
