STOP the Execution of Robert Roberson
Please contact Gov. Greg Abbott and urge him to stop the execution of Robert Roberson.
Texas intends to execute Robert Roberson on October 16, 2025 for the 2002 death of his daughter, Nikki Curtis.
Robert is scheduled to be executed for a crime that never occurred. His daughter, Nikki Curtis, tragically died, and the now-discredited theory of Shaken Baby Syndrome was used to argue that Robert caused her death. Overwhelming medical and scientific evidence indicates that Nikki died of accidental and natural causes, not from abuse.
At least 32 parents and caregivers in 18 states have been exonerated after being wrongfully convicted under the discredited Shaken Baby Syndrome hypothesis. If Texas carries out this execution, Mr. Roberson would be the first person in the U.S. to be executed based on this discredited hypothesis.
Mr. Roberson’s case has garnered support from eminent scientists, doctors, faith leaders, innocence groups, former federal judges, best-selling novelist John Grisham, and even the lead detective who testified for the prosecution, who now believes Mr. Roberson is innocent. The Catholic Bishops in Texas have called for his execution to be called off and for his case to be fully reviewed. That review has not happened.
Robert was miraculously saved from an execution on October 17, 2024 thanks to the heroic efforts of members of the Texas legislature. This execution cannot be allowed to go forward now.
An execution in any case will never equate to justice. But it is especially a dangerous miscarriage of justice to pursue an execution for a crime that never happened.
Please take action today to urge Gov. Abbott to do everything in his power to stop this execution from going forward.
